Directors of INYM met to “boost” yerba mate exports to India
The directors of INYM Gerardo López (Industry sector), Ricardo Maciel (Government of Misiones) and Gerardo Vallejos (Cooperatives sector), together with Marcelo Szychowski (Establishment La Cachuera SA) and Silvio Leguía (Cooperative of Producers of Yerba Mate of Santo Pipó) held a meeting last Friday, December 6 with Anish Narang, a representative of the consulting firm “Karavan Advisory Enterprises”, with the objective of analyzing the current situation and designing strategies to promote yerba mate in the Indian market.
In this regard, during the meeting, Narang presented a new Action Plan that will be submitted to the consideration of the INYM Board of Directors.
India has 1.25 billion inhabitants, it is the second most populated nation on the planet and yerba mate has a great advantage, since in that country there is a high consumption of tea and infusions. One of the challenges is, precisely, to adapt our product to the palate of the Indians.
